It was an immense pleasure to be a part of the “Thalassaemia Week” observed in your Hospital from the 8th May to 13thMay 2016. I as the Working President of Durgapur Society for Thalassaemia and AIDS I would like to congratulate Dr. Sujit Kar Purkayasthya, Medical and Jt. Managing Director to have taken the initiative to offer a wide range of services to the ailing patients either free or at subsidized cost.
In this connection I would also like to mention that, we were also invited to Devan Hospital 3 years back, and we were able perform Ferriscan on 20 patients at subsidized rate and also with Dr Juliano De Lara Fernandez, Consultant from Brazil, for a workshop on Organ Specific Iron Overload monitoring by MRI, which was attended by doctors and thalassaemia related consultants not only from the state but also from neighboring states and country. We are proud to be associated with such initiative of Devan Hospital
Dr Prosanta Chowdhury, Consultant Thalassaemia and Haemoglobinopathy who is absolutely passionate about adding in the latest research and development in his management of thalassaemics, have introduced gene sequencing. I am from Chittagong, Bangladesh and had heard about Devan Hospital and its treatment in India. Truly speaking, I was not really very sure as to how smooth the things would run when I decided to visit the hospital to get treatment done of me and my wife.
I am amazed about the way my whole journey of medical treatment was handled. I have seen five doctors in different specialities. There is smooth communication between the department and our requests were tried to be attended to from all corners. The front desk executives are efficient and the way my Health Check up (done in a package) was very satisfying. At Devan Hospital, they are honest enough not to over prescribe medications or investigations unnecessarily. I would recommend their service to all my friends who wish to visit India for treatment purpose.

My wife also had treatment in July 2015 under Dr. R R Roy(Gynae). This time, it is my turn. In future also, I shall come for treatment. Conveying heartfelt gratitude to all staff & nursing staff with whom I have come accross.
